What types of cuptastings take place

Cuptastings

Cuptasting is the professional tasting of coffee to determine and describe its quality and flavour characteristics. There are various types of cuptastings, as well as related description or evaluation procedures.

We regularly carry out the following cuptastings:
Preshipment Cuptasting, Meet the Farmer Cuptasting, Themed Cuptasting or Online Cuptasting.

Preshipment-Cuptasting

At our Preshipment Cuptastings, we present coffees from a partner plantation that are still stored on the plantation as parchment coffees (separated according to fields, varieties and processing) as unhulled parchment coffees or dried cherry coffees. Participants in the tastings have the opportunity to purchase an entire field exclusively and at the same time have a right of first refusal for the following year.

Meet the Farmer

Single-estate cuptasting where the coffee farmer is present in person to explain all the details about his cultivated coffees and answer questions. A unique experience that also offers a great deal of knowledge transfer and is only possible through our long-standing connections in the direct trade.

Themen-Cuptasting

Whether coffees are seasonal, adapted to a special preparation or from a single variety group, our themed cuptastings always have a clear "red thread" that presents special perspectives on the coffees and their diversity.

Online-Cuptastings

Despite Mannheim's central location and easy accessibility, it is not always easy for our international customers and partners to travel to Mannheim for our cuptastings. To meet this need, we also offer various cuptastings as online cuptastings, for which the participants are sent sample packages before the tasting.
